Bas-jan van der Leede joined Charles River in September 2023 and is responsible for the development and validation of new assays in the field of genetic and in vitro toxicology. He is an experienced genetic toxicologist with more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry at Janssen Pharmaceutica in Belgium. He has in depth knowledge of conducting a great variety of in vitro and in vivo genotoxicity assays as study director, study monitor and laboratory supervisor, and contributed to international validation studies of new genotoxicity assays. In addition, he has been working as genotoxicity expert in cross-functional research and development teams and as preclinical development leader for oncology research projects.
Dr. van der Leede obtained a PhD in the field of Applied Oncology Research from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands.
