Elisa Pasqua is a Senior Group Leader in Medicinal Chemistry at Charles River. She has spent the last eight years working on integrated drug discovery projects as a lead chemist and a project leader. Elisa received her MSci degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Calabria (Italy) in 2006, where she worked on synthesis of metal-capturing polymeric microparticles. In 2007 Elisa joined Bracco Imaging Spa as a Research Chemist, where she worked on innovative eco-compatible methods of molecular interactions of environmental interest. In 2009, Elisa continued her career as a Research Chemist at the University of Trieste. There, she contributed to the synthesis of new diagnostic probes for rheumatoid arthritis. In 2013, Elisa received her PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Glasgow, where she worked on total synthesis of natural products in the Marquez group. She spent her postdoctoral years at the Institute of Cancer Research (London, UK), where she worked on the development of small molecule inhibitors of the HSF1 stress pathway activation in cancer. Over the course of her career, Elisa has co-authored over 30 scientific papers and patents and contributed to the delivery of three preclinical development candidates and one clinical candidate.
