James Raymond, DVM, MS, DACVP, DABT

Senior Scientific Director

Dr. Raymond is a board-certified veterinary pathologist and toxicologist with 30 years of experience. Since joining Charles River Laboratories, Inc. in 2003, he has provided GLP-compliant immunopathology and toxicologic pathology services for biotechnology clients and human drug development, particularly for Investigational New Drug (IND) submissions. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pathobiology from the University of Connecticut in 1991, his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University in 1995, and his Master of Science in Pathology in 1998. After completing residencies in anatomic pathology at Purdue University and comparative pathology at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, he became board certified in veterinary pathology in 1998, a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 1998, and a diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology in 2020.
