Johanna Uhari-Väänänen earned her PhD in pharmacology in 2019 from the University of Helsinki. Her research focused on brain mechanisms associated with ethanol addiction. She joined Charles River in 2022 after a 3-year post-doctorate at the University of Helsinki, where she did research on traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease. At Charles River she works with animal models of CNS-related indications as an in vivo scientist.
