Lorena Sueiro Ballesteros, MRes

Group Leader, In Vitro Biology

Lorena has been with Charles River since 2019 – first as a flow cytometry manager and now in her current role as Group Leader of in vitro biology, where her work mainly focuses on both small- and large-molecule drug candidates. Her role is to design and execute assays that help identify novel therapeutics in oncology and autoimmune disease. Lorena studied immunology at the University of Barcelona and went on to earn an MRes in immuno-oncology from the University of Bristol (UoB), where she investigated the role of co-inhibitory receptor blockades in renal carcinoma. Following her postgraduate studies, she became a flow cytometry specialist at UoB’s core facility, supporting researchers with experimental design and assay development.
