Yvonne Cooney is currently a Principal Research Scientist within the Environmental Fate department at Charles River’s Edinburgh site. She first started working with the Environmental Fate group in 2010, and enjoys problem-solving analytical challenges to understand the rate and route of a test item’s degradation pathway. Her 10+ years in Environmental Fate, as well as a short period working in Animal Metabolism, has led her to partner with a range of leading agrochemical and pharmaceutical companies and given her diverse experience in this field. She has a keen interest in adapting regulatory studies, to provide early stage high-throughput data to aid her client’s candidate selection.
Yvonne has a Master’s Degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry from Glasgow University. She enjoyed a 1-year Industrial Placement position with Charles River in 2008 as part of her Master’s Degree. She also worked with Prof Pavel Kocovsky, for which she was awarded the Society of Chemical Industry Prize in Scotland, for her research at University.
