Meet the Specialist Logistics Services (SLS) Team

Before joining Charles River, James  worked for Biocair International, a specialist pharmaceutical logistics company. There he held a variety of roles, culminating in being named operations manager. He joined Charles River in 2020.

James graduated from Nottingham University in 2003 with a 2:1 (upper second-class honors). In addition to his regular responsibilities, he is also a qualified dangerous goods safety advisor and radiation protection advisor.

Bart has worked for some of the major specialist freight forwarding companies around the globe in various senior positions including supply chain manager, operations manager, and regional manager.

He is originally from Poland and has a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing. He lived in Australia before moving to the United States. He currently resides in the Los Angeles area.

Based in Shanghai, China, Mitch has an excellent understanding of the supply chain process, international and domestic (China) transportation, and import and export operations and regulations within the China Free Trade Zone. 

He has extensive practical experience in 3PL transportation and warehouse management and operations and is an expert in facility/warehouse (DG and non-DG and temperature control) setup from 0 to 1 and ERP system implementation.

With 22 years of experience in international trade, logistics, and supply chain operations and project management, Mitch believes a good team player can bring together a large team of people with a diverse skill base. He has a bachelor's degree in international trade.

Before joining the SLS team, Dr. Thompson was a formulations manager for a Charles River site in Ohio. He helped manage all aspects of the formulations department. He also aligned the site to shipping, logistics, and trade compliance corporate policies and procedures with emphasis on how to facilitate the logistics and shipping of organic and inorganic compounds.

Dr. Thompson has an executive certificate in entrepreneurship from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, a BS in biology and chemistry from Saint Joseph's College, and an MS in biochemistry and a PhD in chemistry from Purdue University.

Prior to joining the SLS team, Kristine was senior manager of logistics for Charles River's cell solutions business unit.  She managed various logistics projects including the alignment of shipping processes and shipping materials and led a project to develop flat-rate shipping for both domestic and international shipments from all US sites, leveraging her relationships with major freight forwarders.

Kristine has a BS in psychology and a BS in nursing, with honors. Originally from the Philippines, she is based in Los Angeles, CA. In her spare time, Kristine loves spending time with her husband and two children, exploring parks, going to amusement parks, and zoos.
