Screening Libraries Curated to Deliver Actionable Hits
Basing your campaign on the right set of compounds greatly enhances the speed and ultimate success of your drug discovery program. We offer numerous screening libraries to support hit identification and beyond, available to pair in-house with our comprehensive screening portfolio or via assay-ready plates (where applicable).
Chemical Compound Libraries: Select from over 1.25 million quality-controlled, actively curated compounds across multiple libraries, grouped to enable targeted screening campaigns across a spectrum of research objectives.
Cell Line Libraries: More than 120 functionally validated ion channel cell lines as well as customized service, starting with stable expression of single proteins through to stable co-expression of multiple protein subunits.
Antibody Screening Libraries: Rapidly discover therapeutic-ready antibody hits against any target of interest. Choose from scFV or VHH phage display libraries containing up to 100 billion fully human clones and receive a panel of up to 48 unique hits in as few as eight weeks.
Compound Management
Through advanced automation we can facilitate complex logistics, rapid plate preparation, and integrated projects, seamlessly bringing together library screening with chemistry, biology, ADME, and more.
Our compound management is executed with best-in-class equipment, including Cenovo management software and Echo liquid handling instruments. Our processes are designed to add simplicity and peace of mind, allowing you to focus on your discoveries.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About Screening Libraries
-
Can I screen libraries in their entirety?
Our individual screening libraries range in size from over half a million to several thousand. All of our libraries are available to screen in their entirety or via subsets.
-
Can you help me design a smaller, bespoke screening set?
All our screening libraries have been designed to support specific research objectives. However, we can help you narrow this down further with either a subset from one library, or a strategic selection from multiple libraries. Our computational chemists are experienced in factoring your target, research goals, resources, and downstream plans, and using computer-aided drug design to build a bespoke screening selection aligned to your specific needs.
-
Are your libraries available in-house for immediate screening?
Our libraries are all stored and managed on-premise at Charles River, to facilitate the quickest start to your screening campaign.
-
Are your libraries available to screen externally?
Most of our screening libraries can be provided as assay-ready plates, for screening in your own lab. Our team can work with you to define details, generate plates and organize secure shipment to your preferred location. Talk to our screening team to discuss your requirements.
-
Can I screen my own or a third-party library as part of an HTS conducted with Charles River?
You can provide your own library, screen any of ours, or mix a combination of the two approaches when conducting an HTS campaign with Charles River. Contact us to learn more about how our compound management process is set up to accommodate this.
